They've been on the run, but now they're being dragged back to St. Vladimir's—the very place where they're most in danger... Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy's ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world's fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Review:

This series is amazing! I've read the series countless times and each time I read it it just makes me love it even more. The world the Richelle Mead has thought up is amazing. I also love Richelle Mead's writting style, the way that she has made the focus of the book about the characters and not the fact that they are vampires weather they are Moroi, Dhampir or Strigoi. The plot is another thing that made me fall in love with the series and how we get to see not just Rose's perspective but also Lissa's. Richelle Mead definitley has a knack when she is writting her characters, throughout all the books she has written I find myself loving all of the characters and this series is no exception, I especially love the character of Dimitri and how he is serious but also kind and caring.

Overall I think this book is amazing and it shows just how great of a writer Richelle Mead is.

Synopsis:

It’s been so long since Auden slept at night. Ever since her parents’ divorce—or since the fighting started. Now she has the chance to spend a carefree summer with her dad and his new family in the charming beach town where they live.

A job in a clothes boutique introduces Auden to the world of girls: their talk, their friendship, their crushes. She missed out on all that, too busy being the perfect daughter to her demanding mother. Then she meets Eli, an intriguing loner and a fellow insomniac who becomes her guide to the nocturnal world of the town. Together they embark on parallel quests: for Auden, to experience the carefree teenage life she’s been denied; for Eli, to come to terms with the guilt he feels for the death of a friend.

Review:

I thought that I wouldn't really like this book because it looked a bit too girly for me. But I LOVED it! Even though it was girly I found myself not being able to put it down. The characters were written really well and they were all relatable, the one person I couldn't relate to and found myself being constantly annouyed by was Auden's father and the reason for that was because he was so self-centered. I found that the plot in this- even though it was very predictable- still kept my attention the whole time and I found myself really enjoying the story and this is all because of how realistic and relatable the characters are. I found myself really loving the characters of Auden and Eli and how they were together.

Overall I thought this was an amazing book and I can't believe that I haven't picked up any of Sarah Dessen's books before, and after reading this book I definitley will be.

Review:

I thought that this book was pretty good. I'll admit I didn't have very high expectations for this book, for some reason I just had the feeling that I wasn't going to like it, but I was definitley wrong. I found myself really getting into this book, I thought that the charcter were wriiten very well especially Grace and Sam and I also found that the plot in this book kept me engaged the whole way through and found myself really liking the changes in point of view, I found that this made the book a whole lot more interesting for me as we got to see what both Grace and Sam were thinking. I also found myself really feeling sorry for what Grace and Sam were going through and I think that that was due to how realisticially the characters were written and in the last few chapeters of the book really feeling Grace's sadness. Overall I thought that this was a very well written book and it made a wonderful start to the series.

Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins...

Series: Hex Hall (Book #1)
Published:  January 25th 2011 by Hyperion
Pages: 323
Rating: 4 stars

Synopsis:

Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It’s gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie’s estranged father—an elusive European warlock—only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it’s her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters. By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect.
As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her.

Review:

I found this book to be very slow to start off with but then about half way through it really started to pick up. I found that the character of Sophie to very relatable and I also really enjoyed the way that her character was written as with all of the main characters. One of the things that I really liked about this book was the way that Rachel Hawkins has written the book so that for the most part I found myslef not really focusing on the "supernatural" part of the book, which I think made the book a whole lot more enjoyable for me. I was shocked by the ending of this book I was not expecting it at all, I also thought it was a very clever ending because the book finishes in a way that it really makes you want to read the next book, which i definitley intend on doing. Overall I thought that this book was really good and a very strong start to what looks to be a very promising series

Storm Born by Richelle Mead...

Series: Dark Swan (Book #1)
Published:  August 14th 2008 by Bantam Books Ltd
Pages: 493
Rating: 4 stars
Age Recommendation: 15+ (Graphic scenes)

Synopsis:

Just typical. No love life to speak of for months, then all at once, every horny creature in the Otherworld wants to get in your pants... Eugenie Markham is a powerful shaman who does a brisk trade banishing spirits and fey who cross into the mortal world. Mercenary, yes, but a girl's got to eat. Her most recent case, however, is enough to ruin her appetite. Hired to find a teenager who has been taken to the Otherworld, Eugenie comes face to face with a startling prophecy--one that uncovers dark secrets about her past and claims that Eugenie's first-born will threaten the future of the world as she knows it.
Now Eugenie is a hot target for every ambitious demon and Otherworldy ne'er-do-well, and the ones who don't want to knock her up want her dead. Eugenie handles a Glock as smoothly as she wields a wand, but she needs some formidable allies for a job like this. She finds them in Dorian, a seductive fairy king with a taste for bondage, and Kiyo, a gorgeous shape-shifter who redefines animal attraction. But with enemies growing bolder and time running out, Eugenie realizes that the greatest danger is yet to come, and it lies in the dark powers that are stirring to life within her...

Review:

I though this book was really good. Although I found how Richelle Mead made Eugenie's supernatural abilities and the Otherworld the focus of the book a change to how her other series are written the change it wasn't bad. I though that the characters were written extremely well and like all her leading female characters I found myself really liking Euegenie, I also found myself really liking the charcters of Dorian and Kiyo. I also thought that the plot was extremley well written and it held my attention the whole way through, the only reason that I gave it 4 stars was because it wasn't so engaging that I couldn't put it down, which has been the case with the rest of Richelle Mead's books but that's not to say the book was bad. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I am really looking foward to reading the next book in the series.
